Rivetous SaaS Starter

Most SaaS teams spend their first three months building the same dashboard scaffolding every other team builds. Routing, data fetching, tables, forms, auth guards. None of it is your product. The SaaS Starter delivers that infrastructure in 3 weeks, so your engineers can spend month four shipping features.

Prerequisite

Requires the Rivetous Foundation.

What your team inherits

A fully engineered dashboard chassis built on your Foundation. Every pattern your team will repeat across features is already solved, documented, and consistent. Your engineers pick it up and extend it, not untangle it.

  • Data fetching and state, done properly. Async data loading, caching, loading states, and error boundaries are wired up and consistent across the application. Your engineers follow the pattern, not invent their own.
  • Ready to wire to your API from day one. The application ships fully functional against a reference data layer. Your engineers swap in live endpoints without restructuring anything. If you provide an API specification at kickoff, we build against your actual contract.
  • Production-grade data tables. Sortable, filterable, paginated. Built to handle real data volumes, not demo rows. Your engineers extend the pattern for every list view they add.
  • Charts and analytics views. Responsive data visualisation layouts, built from your Foundation components and mapped to your data structures.
  • Two complete feature modules. Two fully functional data management flows demonstrating list/detail views, create and edit forms, and end-to-end data patterns. The template every subsequent feature follows.
  • Auth and routing guardrails. Protected routes, authentication state handling, and global layout templates are in place. Your team adds features inside a structure that already works.
  • Type-safe throughout. API contracts, data shapes, and UI prop boundaries are enforced at compile time. The codebase tells your engineers when something is wrong before it reaches a user.

Scope boundaries

The 3-week sprint is protected by fixed scope. Additional feature modules can be added via Feature Add-On Sprints.

  • No live backend plumbing. The application is delivered against a reference data layer. Live production endpoints, databases, and server configuration are your team's integration step.
  • No copywriting. Secondary text, empty states, and descriptive content use placeholder text. Your copy drops in once ready.
  • No third-party service wiring. Payment gateways, third-party auth providers, and analytics scripts are excluded. These are straightforward additions once the foundation is in place.

What we need before day one

The sprint clock starts once these are confirmed:

  1. Rivetous Foundation. A completed, approved Foundation sprint.
  2. Data model overview. Documented data models or an example schema showing how your backend structures its primary resources. The more detail provided, the closer the delivered application is to your real API.
  3. Layout and journey approval. Confirmed application layout structure and the core dashboard user journeys to be built.
